Final Cut Pro

Edit Multi-Camera iPhone Footage in Final Cut Pro

Videk exports your recording as a Final Cut Pro project (FCPXML) with all camera angles as synchronized multicam clips. Open it in Final Cut Pro and start cutting immediately — no manual syncing, no file wrangling.

How It Works

From a Videk session to a Final Cut Pro multicam timeline in minutes.

  1. 1
Record your session in Videk Director

All connected cameras record simultaneously to their own full-quality tracks. Record as many cameras as you need — each gets its own clip in the export.

  2. 2
Export as Final Cut Pro project

In Videk Director, open Sessions → select your recording → tap Export → choose "Final Cut Pro (FCPXML)." Videk generates a complete project file.

  3. 3
Import the FCPXML in Final Cut Pro

In Final Cut Pro, go to File → Import → XML → select the exported FCPXML file. Your session opens as a new library with all angles pre-loaded.

  4. 4
    Edit your multicam clip

All camera angles appear as a synchronized Multicam Clip in the timeline. Switch angles with the Angle Editor — every cut is already in sync.

Built for Final Cut Pro

🎬

Full FCPXML Project Export

Export includes the timeline, all camera clips, metadata, and sync points. Open it in Final Cut Pro and it's ready to edit — not just raw files.

🔄

Pre-Synced Multicam Clips

All camera angles are synchronized automatically by Videk. No need to sync by audio waveform or manually align clips in the timeline.

🎙️

Separate Audio Tracks

Director Mic audio is exported as a dedicated track alongside each camera's built-in audio. Mix and choose in Final Cut Pro.

📋

Camera Names Preserved

Each clip in the FCPXML is labeled with the camera name you see in Videk Director — e.g., "iPhone 15 Pro," "iPad Pro." Easy to navigate in the Angle Editor.

🎥

iMovie Export Also Available

For simpler edits, export for iMovie instead. Individual camera tracks are exported as separate files ready to drop into an iMovie project.

☁️

iCloud Source Files

Source recordings are archived to iCloud before export. Files are available on any Mac signed into the same Apple ID — no cable transfer needed.

vs. Manual Multicam Sync in Final Cut Pro

Without Videk, you'd record each iPhone separately as a standalone video file, then import them all into Final Cut Pro and manually create a Multicam Clip by syncing on audio waveforms — which often requires clean room audio to work correctly. With Videk, the FCPXML is generated automatically with frame-accurate sync, saving 30–60 minutes of post-production setup on every project.
